Outdoor Survival Skills: Mastering the 10 Priorities of Survival

Venture into the Australian wilderness with confidence, right in your local area or even your own backyard!

Our foundational one-day course offers personalized survival skills training, much like having a fitness personal trainer for the outdoors. We bring the essential knowledge and practical skills directly to you, tailored to navigate Australia's diverse, often challenging, and unforgiving landscapes, all built around the 10 Priorities of Survival:

Drawing upon these fundamental priorities, this hands-on program provides you with the critical knowledge and practical skills needed to thrive in Australia's unique environment. Whether you envision being lost, facing a vehicle breakdown in a remote area, or needing to bug out into the bush to survive, this course delivers the fundamental techniques you need, conveniently located at a local State forest or reserve near you, or even in the familiar setting of your own backyard.

Just like a personal trainer, we'll guide you through mastering each of the 10 Priorities:

  • SHELTER: Building effective and safe shelters using natural materials available in your chosen training location.

  • FIRE: Mastering various fire-starting methods for warmth, cooking, and signaling.

  • WATER: Locating and safely treating water sources relevant to your environment.

  • FOOD: Learning safe and sustainable methods for finding food, including identifying edible plants (often prepared with a cutting tool) and safe hunting/trapping techniques (where applicable and legal in your training area, frequently requiring a sharp cutting tool for processing).

  • MEDICAL: Understanding basic first aid principles and how to utilize available resources to address common injuries and health concerns.

  • CUTTING TOOLS: Emphasizing the absolute necessity of carrying and effectively using tools such as a knife for a multitude of survival tasks.

  • SELF RESCUE AND NAVIGATION: Understanding basic navigation techniques applicable to any terrain and fundamental self-rescue strategies.

  • DEFENSIVE TOOLS: Learning about appropriate defensive tools (within legal guidelines and your comfort level) and basic self-protection principles.

  • CORDAGE / REPAIR: Cordage is one of the hardest items to re-create out in the wild, so carrying cordage is at the utmost importance.

  • MENTAL HEATH: Mental Health is probably the most important priority of Survival. Crucially, we emphasize the importance of mental fortitude and the power of knowledge in reducing fear and anxiety. Along with this we encourage you to have on you an item of comfort this item obviously varies from person to person.

Empower yourself with the knowledge and skills to confidently face the unexpected in the Australian outdoors, with the convenience of training in your local State forest or reserve, or even the comfort of your own backyard. This personalized one-day course is your crucial first step towards self-reliance in this remarkable and sometimes unforgiving land, firmly grounded in the essential 10 Priorities of Survival and underscoring the absolute necessity of carrying quality cutting tools.
